Manzanita -Large group of slow growing woody groundcovers to small trees, mostly native to California. This group is known for its peeling mahogany-red stems and branches. Most species are tolerant of poor soils and dry conditions.

Genus of about 50 annuals, perennials and sub-shrubs. This genus, along with a few others, use the common name African Daisy. Blooms in winter through spring. Used in borders, also ideal in containers.

Wormwood -Large group consisting of over 300 species of evergreen and deciduous perennials. Most consist of aromatic gray to whitish foliage. Generally they are tough and tolerant of a wide range of conditions.

Butterfly Weed -Gorgeous late blooming perennials. Noted for being the food source for the Monarch Butterfly. Also utilized by a great number of other interesting insects.

Short lived Australian shrub that can be some what tricky, requiring very well-drained soil. Despite that, they are hard to resist for their beautiful show of flowers and fragrant foliage. Good cut flower.
Brugmansia
Angel's Trumpet -Fast growing tropical shrubs and trees grown for their huge, trumpet shaped flowers. In the evening they release a powerful sweet fragrance. Good large container plant.

Sedge -Large group of tufted perennials belonging to the sedge family. Most species occur in bog or damp woodland areas, they are tough and adaptable, many species are able to naturalize in a variety of conditions.
