Yarrow --A very attractive, extremely tough ground cover which can tolerate both heat and dry conditions. Free-blooming--flowers summer through fall. Most varieties make very nice cut or dried flowers. Also useful as a fire retardant ground cover taking temperatures of 0° or below.
Ajuga
Bugleweed -Large group of mainly evergreen spreading perennials. Some varieties of the carpet bugleweed group have bold, interesting colored leaves. Easy to grow gound cover for light shade.
Arctostaphylos
Manzanita -Large group of slow growing woody groundcovers to small trees, mostly native to California. This group is known for its peeling mahogany-red stems and branches. Most species are tolerant of poor soils and dry conditions.
