While some varieties are grown for their beautiful flowers, many others are grown for their colorful foliage which can vary widely in shape, color and texture. Excellent container and basket subjects.

Umbrella Sedge -Bog plant which is a member of the sedge family. Plants produce striking forms of tall upright stems topped by pom-poms of fine thread-like leaves. Can be grown as house plant in cold areas. Amazingly drought tolerant.

Spurge -Worldwide distribution. Incredibly diverse group of plants. They have striking forms with interesting leaf and flower colors. Some have thorns like a cactus or thickened stems like a succulent. Many possess a milky, usually caustic sap that can cause a mild skin irritation. Be very careful to not rub in or around the eyes.
